Conversational English Teacher

During college at UCSB, I made friends with many European study abroad students. I watched their English go from good to fluent in a very short period through talking over dinner, talking at parties, going on hikes, and playing sports. I believe this way of teaching works really well for someone trying to improve their fluency and confidence.

I have taught many study-abroad undergrads in the U.S. who needed help with their English fluency. apart from english teaching I have experience in other categories of teaching: 1) Music lessons on the cello and guitar to young kids as well as adults. 2) I ran summer kids camps and one - on - one surf lessons to kids and adults during the summer.

I choose topics we're both interested in, so the conversation flows naturally, and we're both actively contributing. This is the same approach that worked well with my friends from UCSB. Talking about shared interests builds vocabulary and fluency far faster than memorized drills. I'll correct mistakes during our conversations in order to gain confidence in the language and understand it.
