English teacher with experience

Greetings! I am originally from Denver, Colorado USA but have lived in Portland, Oregon, USA for the past 25 years. I love Portland and can't wait to tell you all about it.

I was lucky enough to come to the Czech Republic in early October 2021 and I quickly fell in love with it here. I love teaching all of my students here and I look forward to meeting you too!

I have been teaching online from all over the world for nearly five years (adults, teenagers and older children) and started teaching professional adults through a school in Prague in October 2021. I also have a few local private students of all ages and backgrounds.

I got my TEFL certification in 2019 while living in Portland, Oregon USA with 200 hours of course work and 20 hours of practical work.

I also have a Bachelor Degree in Russian studies and a Master Degree in Public Administration.

I have over 20 years of experience in the non-profit field in management and operations. I have worked in a variety of organizations but mostly in those that are focused on intercultural education.

My passion is language and culture as I have been learning Russian for the past 30 years. I lived in Russia in the early 90s for three years and I taught English along with other interesting jobs. I also taught Russian 20 years ago in a local community college in the US.

My lessons are for you and your needs. I have created some very fun and interesting lessons that can help improve your reading, listening and speaking skills and most importantly your fluency. I love to talk about culture, language and travel but also love to learn about you. I often use a program called Off2class which has hundreds of lessons to fit your needs I can also work with you on academics such as editing and writing papers. I have helped a number of my students with the TOEFL test that have gone on to study in master's programs in the US. Lastly, if you need help with writing emails, communicating with co-workers in English, preparing for an interview or anything connected to English and your job, I can do that too! Most importantly I know that it takes a few lessons for us to get to know each other and to figure out what works. I want to know what you are interested in and what works for you.
