🇨🇦 Writer - Fun, Relaxed, Experienced.

Hello, I’m a Canadian expat and I’ve been teaching English in Prague for 9 years. I’m a TEFL-certified teacher on the Zivnostensky list.

I’m currently looking to teach a few courses at companies, preferably group classes in blocks. I also have space in my schedule for some new private students as well.

Conversational English is my specialty. I like to show my students TED Talks, documentaries, news articles, etc.––introduce new vocabulary and then have a discussion on the topic. (Although I am certainly more than happy to prepare grammar lessons, if that's what students want). I enjoy talking about pretty much everything: politics, science, economics, business, art, philosophy, fashion, design, nature, cinema and more. Conversation really is an art, and that’s what I like to develop in my lessons. The goal is to get you to relax and speak naturally.

In addition to being a teacher, I'm also a published author. I have published two works of fiction: The Unified Field of Loneliness: Stories (2019) and the novel Venus&Document (2022). As a writer, I have a rich knowledge of the English language, which means I am able offer things that many other teachers cannot (usage, history of English language, advanced vocabulary, etymology, etc.)
